During all our school holiday programs basic gymnastics skills are taught. But, there is nothing super serious about our school holidays gymnastics program – it’s all about keeping active and having fun (in a safe, supervised environment).
Kids have the opportunity to play on all the gymnastics equipment including:
- trampolines – long tramp + 2 large floor tramps
- huge foam pit
- flying trapeze
- balance beams
- spring boards
- and so much more…

5 cool (and easy) gymnastics tricks to try
If you’re attending one of our school holiday clinics, why don’t you try some of these gymnastics tricks?
DEAD HANG GANG – Gather at least 4 friends around the parallel bars. At the same time, each of you jump up and hold onto the bar. Taller kids can be at the back, smaller kids at the front. See who can hang there the longest without falling off.
HANDSTAND COMPETITION – Grab a group of friends – a mix of boys and girls if you can. Ask one of our coaches to make sure you’re lining up correctly. Now do a handstand against the wall and see who can last the longest. The coach will time you and make sure you’re doing it right. Extra points given for straight legs and pointed toes.
SPRING KING (OR QUEEN) – Have a competition with friends to see who can jump the highest off one of the springboards or mini tramps onto a crash mat. Make sure you measure the distance of your feet off the ground so it’s fair to all participants – no matter how tall or short. Make sure you keep your legs straight when you’re in the air (no cheating and pulling your legs up). You might need to ask a coach to be an impartial judge of this one.
TRAMPOLINE TUCK JUMP – Jump on the tramp at least 5 times so you have enough height and momentum. When high in the air, bring your knees up to your chest then grab just below your knees with your hands. Make sure you let go before your feet land back on the trampoline. BALANCE BEAM TEAM – Grab a friend and stand next to each other, holding hands, on one of the floor beam. Face straight ahead with your toes hanging over the edge of the beam. Can you both shuffle along all the way to the end without either one of you putting a foot on the ground or falling off? If you do, go back to the beginning and start again. How many times do you have to restart before you make it all the way to the end?
